Remember, there will always be a deal....

When I first started out couponing to stockpile about a year ago...I thought I had to get EVERY deal! That thought lasted about 3 weeks and I realized there would always be a deal. I only get the deals that we can use, family or friends can use or I can donate. Don't get caught up in running around from store to store to get every deal every week, because it can and will burn you out.

A deal that I may get in my town, may not be a deal you can get in your own town. Prices can differ by regions. Coupon policies can differ also....So, keep this in mind when shopping. If you are unsure then ask, it never hurts to ask before you start shopping.

D.I.Y. Ideas!

We have recently had the conversation on Facebook about what our readers Do It Yourself?? Here are a list of great DIY things, to help cut costs back at your house!!

-If you have boys/men in your house that don't mind an all one length hair cut, then buy yourself a pair of clippers and DIY!

-Stop paying a maintenance person to cut your grass! That's a huge expense and it's very gratifying to do it yourself and see how nice it looks once your done!

-Take a class to learn how to do things. You might have to pay to learn them....but remember you will no longer have to pay someone else to do it for you, and in turn save those dollars!!

-Do free or cheap outings! Having a family picnic at the city park is always fun for everyone, and it's gratifying as a parent!

-Learn to sew! Make your own curtains, tablecloths, clothes and so on. It's much cheaper and you get what you want this way!

-If you have items for sale, instead of putting an ad in the paper.....try networking first. Most of the time when you advertise through social networking you can get a better response and strangers don't have your information by doing this! Or you can just do a good old fashioned yard sale!!

-Make your own food items from scratch.....examples: bread, pasta sauce, muffins, cakes etc.

-Plant your own garden so you have your own produce right in your back yard!

-If there is someone in your family that likes to hunt, take advantage of that and cook with that meat! There are a lot of recipes to help with the gamy taste.

-You or your partner start changing your own oil in your vehicle(s).

These are just a few things you can do, so feel free to leave your comments on how you help save your family money by Doing It Yourself!

Start Saving for Christmas!

Do you want a Cash only Christmas?

Here are some helpful tips to start you on your way to a credit card free Christmas!

1. Recylce and get paid for Cans, Bottles, Newspaper, and Cardboard. There are still places out there that will pay you to bring these items in. We save and take cans to a recycle places that pays us!

2. Save ALL silver change! This change adds up quickly! We have done this the last 2 years...and have saved up at least $100 to $150 a year!

3. Drink Coke? Check out My Coke Rewards and start earning items from them! They are always adding items or coupons to there site! These items or giftcards make great gifts!

4. Clean out your closets! Find a consignment shop and consign your items or have a garage/yard sale! Make some cash!

5. Do you have video games you don't play? Try selling them on Amazon or Craigslist. Or you can trade them in - Check out Gamestop!

6. Check out Survey sites or mystery shopping! You can usually earn gift cards this way!

7. Keep on couponing and start putting up the difference. Example, if your item was $1.50 and you had a $1 off coupon, you only paid a $0.50! Take a $1 out and put the $1 up and start saving, it adds up quickly!

8. Swagbucks!!! I love this, I only use the search and I am earning points for giftcards! I am planning on using them on the Amazon gift cards!

9. Advertise and do some babysitting...this money can add up fast!

There are many ways to find extra money and earn cash for Christmas! The most important thing to remember is to set a budget!!!
